Prayagraj Administration Refutes Social Media Rumors

Prayagraj, Mahakumbh Nagar: Amid circulating social media rumors about a possible extension of the Maha Kumbh Mela due to massive crowds, Prayagraj District Magistrate (DM) Ravindra Mandar has categorically denied such claims. Addressing concerns, he emphasized that the event’s schedule is based on religious “muhurats” (auspicious timings) and remains unchanged. The grand spiritual gathering will conclude on February 26, as planned.

“There is no proposal from the government or district administration to extend the mela dates. The public is urged not to believe in misinformation,” stated DM Mandar.

Seamless Arrangements for Devotees

In adherence to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directives, the administration has implemented robust measures to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for the lakhs of devotees visiting the Triveni Sangam for their sacred baths. Authorities have enhanced security, crowd control, and essential services to accommodate the influx of pilgrims.

Traffic management remains a top priority to maintain a balance between the movement of devotees and daily life in Prayagraj. Special arrangements are in place to prevent congestion and ensure accessibility.

Railway Operations and Exam Conduct Unaffected

Clarifying concerns regarding railway station closures, the DM confirmed that no station has been shut down without prior notice. The closure of Prayag Sangam station at Daraganj on peak days is a routine measure to control overcrowding near the mela site. Other railway stations remain fully operational, ensuring smooth travel for passengers.

Additionally, the administration reassured that no students have missed their board exams due to the mela. “We advised students and parents to plan their commute in advance, and the CBSE and ICSE boards have also provided alternate opportunities for those who may miss exams due to unavoidable circumstances,” he stated.

Stay Updated with Official Sources

Authorities have urged residents and visitors to rely solely on official sources for accurate updates regarding the Maha Kumbh Mela. The government remains committed to providing a well-organized, safe, and spiritually enriching experience for all attendees.
